Job summary

Metro Bank is seeking a dedicated Corporate Banking professional to manage a portfolio of customers with a strong focus on delivering an AMAZEING experience. You will work with Directors and Managers to shape credit decisions, interpret financial data, and manage facilities through reviews and due diligence.

You will collaborate across risk, operations and regional teams to ensure compliant, profitable outcomes for clients and Metro Bank.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in Commercial or Corporate Banking.
• Strong relationship management with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
• Excellent credit underwriting and ability to interpret financial statements.
• Experience in credit writing and financial analysis for lending decisions.
• Understanding of commercial lending processes and risk management.
• Knowledge of Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering requirements.

What You Will Do

• You will support a portfolio of Corporate Banking customers, building strong relationships and delivering an AMAZEING customer experience whilst helping customers achieve their growth ambitions.
• You will work closely with Corporate Banking Directors and Corporate Banking Managers to manage complex corporate relationships, ensuring customer, risk and commercial objectives are achieved.
• You will gather, assess and interpret financial information, including financial statements, management accounts, profit and loss statements and cash flow information to support relationship management and lending activities.
• You will evaluate lending opportunities, prepare credit proposals and undertake robust financial analysis to support quality lending decisions for Corporate Banking customers.
• You will support the ongoing management of customer facilities, including annual reviews, covenant testing, conditions subsequent and customer due diligence requirements.
• You will work closely with Credit, Lending & Securities, Lending Operations, Financial Crime Risk & Controls and Regional Banking teams to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
• You will develop and maintain influential relationships with customers, intermediaries and professional contacts, helping to strengthen Metro Bank's presence and reputation in the market.
• You will identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships and support the growth of the Corporate Banking portfolio.
• You will act with integrity at all times, championing Metro Bank's values and setting the standard when working with customers, intermediaries and colleagues.
• You will manage all aspects of risk within your role, including Credit, Operational, Regulatory and Financial Crime risk.

What You Will Need

• A minimum of three years’ experience within Commercial or Corporate Banking, preferably in a role with similar responsibilities.
• Outstanding relationship management skills, with experience of building credibility and developing relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
• Excellent credit underwriting skills, with a track record of understanding large SMEs and Mid-Corporate customers.
• Experience of credit writing, financial analysis and report writing, with the ability to interpret financial statements, management accounts, profit and loss statements and cash flow information.
• An in-depth understanding of the commercial lending process, from start to completion, and the ongoing management of customer facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering requirements, as well as Treating Customers Fairly and conduct expectations.
• Strong operational and credit risk awareness, with the ability to make decisions based on insight and knowledge.
• Good knowledge of different industries and sectors, including how they perform financially and structurally.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for delivering AMAZEING customer service, creating FANS and supporting our Corporate customers and their banking requirements.
• A Finance or Banking-related degree or relevant professional qualification would be helpful but is not essential. You will be expected to work towards the Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers or an equivalent qualification.
