Job summary

The work encompasses a broad range of corporate transactions, from acquisitions to shareholder arrangements, with opportunities to lead business development and work collaboratively across the firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with partner-level experience in corporate law.
• Proven track record advising on a broad range of corporate transactions.
• Established network of clients or strong appetite to develop one.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and commercial skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Birmingham corporate practice.
• Advise on acquisitions, mergers and disposals.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Partner to join a vibrant and growing law firm in Birmingham.

The firm has an ambitious approach to growth and is looking for an experienced Corporate lawyer who can play a key role in developing the practice. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a dynamic environment, with the freedom to develop client relationships, grow their own practice and help shape the future direction of the Corporate team.

The team advises a broad range of businesses, shareholders and investors on a variety of corporate transactions, working closely with clients to provide practical and commercially focused advice.

The Work will include:

• Advising on a broad range of corporate transactions.
• Acting on acquisitions, disposals and mergers.
• Advising shareholders and management teams.
• Handling investments, reorganisations and restructurings.
• Advising on joint ventures and shareholder arrangements.
• Managing transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
• Building and developing strong client relationships.
• Taking an active role in business development and networking.
• Identifying opportunities to grow the Corporate practice.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
• Supporting and developing junior members of the team.
• Playing a key role in the continued growth and development of the Birmingham office.

About You

We’re looking for a Corporate lawyer with:

• Strong experience in Corporate law at Partner or senior level.
• A proven track record of advising on a broad range of corporate transactions.
• An established network of clients and contacts, or a strong appetite to develop one.
• Excellent technical, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
• The ability to develop long-term client relationships.
• A genuine interest in business development and growing a practice.
• Leadership skills and the ability to support and develop colleagues.
• An entrepreneurial and proactive mindset.
• The ambition to play an active role in a growing firm.
