Description

The team

The RPC Corporate Insurance team is a market leader. At the forefront of M&A, private equity, reinsurance, securities work, distribution and regulatory advisory, a good proportion of the work will be ground-breaking. The team is particularly well known for its work for businesses with a presence in the Lloyd's of London market.

Regularly featuring in "team of the year" awards categories, the work is fast-paced and challenging but always in a supportive environment.

The team sits at the heart of RPC's business, bringing together award-winning deals expertise, regulatory advice and market knowledge that is second to none.

Clients include leading insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, brokers, capital providers, private equity funds, management teams, insurtechs and trade bodies.

The role

We are looking for a talented transactions focussed Senior Associate with 5+ years of PQE experience in the (re)insurance sector. Your experience to date will include some or all of the following:

  • M&A
  • Private equity investments
  • Lloyd's syndicate financings and managing agency arrangements
  • Part VII transfers
  • Reinsurance transactions, including ADC, LPTs and RITCs

The role is based in our London office. We are looking for a team member keen to work on mandates involving the highest profile clients, investors and advisers, but who wish to handle market-notable work in a supportive, collaborative, commercial environment.

We welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experience. Experience to date can be in-house, and/or in firms of all sizes and profile: we are, simply put, looking for an exceptional and enthusiastic candidate who will thrive and enjoy being part of our team.

We work hard but there is no hours-based culture. You will be encouraged to help to drive the business and will have a high degree of autonomy and client involvement. You will work with, support and learn from experienced colleagues, including the partners who are each independently recognised as leaders in the insurance legal services market. There is plenty of room for growth and you can be reassured that the firm will be an enthusiastic supporter of your development.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • 5+ years of PQE, you will be a specialist in (transactional) corporate insurance with a strong grounding in this area.
  • Able to deliver sound legal and commercial solutions and work collaboratively with partners and clients to achieve objectives and provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Ability to manage and complete a deal effectively from start to finish.
  • Committed to business development to further grow the practice, you will be able to spot and drive commercial opportunities forward.
  • Ability to establish strong client relationships based on mutual trust and understanding.
  • Work efficiently and commercially to maximise profitability.
  • Committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture recognising and celebrating achievements.
  • Ability to be an effective leader within the team who coaches and develops junior team members to achieve their full potential.
