Job summary

Cowgills, part of the Sumer Group, Manchester, seeks a corporate finance professional to lead transactions from inception to completion. You will work with Partners and Directors, prepare information memoranda, manage the due diligence process, and contribute to commercial/ legal negotiations with private equity exposure.

The role requires several years in a lead advisory capacity, strong financial analysis, and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills, plus the ability to present findings confidently

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CFQ (or equivalent) with first-time passes.
• Strong financial analysis and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.
• Confident in presenting and articulating findings.
• Several years’ lead advisory experience and deals in £5m–£50m EV range.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate finance transactions from inception to completion with Partners/Directors.
• Develop information memoranda and review junior work.
• Manage full due diligence and contribute to negotiations.
• Prepare pitch documents and participate in pitch meetings.
• Support growth and identify business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with Partners and Directors to lead and manage corporate finance transactions from inception to completion
• Have the ability to lead certain transactions with partner/director oversight
• Build strong relationships with clients, working predominantly on sell side transactions, with private equity exposure
• Prepare information memoranda and review junior work on information memoranda
• Manage the full due diligence process and be able to contribute to commercial / legal negotiation points
• Prepare pitch documents and contribute to pitch meetings
• Support the team’s ongoing growth, including beginning to identify relevant business opportunities
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Finance and the wider firm and group, begin to identify wider revenue generating referral opportunities
• Manage junior resource, including assisting in their development, managing workflow and reviewing work
• Manage research and analyse transactions and sector analysis
• Prepare financial valuations and returns analysis
• Have started to build a network of professional contacts

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• ACA or ACCA or CFQ qualification (or equivalent), ideally with first time passes
• Strong financial analysis and Excel / PowerPoint skills
• Confident in presenting and articulating findings
• Several years’ experience in a lead advisory role and completed deals in the £5m to £50m EV range
