Role Overview

The Associate Director / Director – Corporate Finance will work with a Director or Partner to lead the execution of transactions on a day-to-day basis, focusing on driving the transaction timetable. The role involves general project management, preparing and reviewing key documents, originating and delivering potential client ideas, developing pitch documents, and providing leadership to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with a Director or Partner, lead the execution of transactions on a day-to-day basis, focusing on driving the transaction timetable
  • General project management, working alongside and assisting more senior members of the team and directing the work of more junior members, providing detailed review of juniors' work prior to Director / Partner review
  • Preparing or reviewing all key documents (IM, Business plan, Heads of Terms, financial models) and having input into deal strategy and tactics with Director / Partner
  • Originate and deliver potential client ideas, identifying opportunities, opening and leveraging relationships
  • Lead the development of pitch documents and take a leading role in client pitches
  • Develop your own business network with a view to increasing your origination capabilities over the medium term, including opportunities to present at seminars / events
  • Provide leadership to junior team members producing Information Memoranda, financial models, and other transaction documentation
  • Take ownership and responsibility for one or more team functions such as training, people development, quality, finances, etc
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of deal rationale and provide insight on third parties to clients and partner / director accordingly
  • Use experience of deals to increase breadth of deal documents input to, including funds flow, SPA, Heads of Terms, locked box papers
  • Lead on take on and risk processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and FRP policies. Ensure client files are maintained appropriately and are compliant with FRP policy at Completion
  • Identify potential deal opportunities and develop ideas for approaching and originating deals
  • Develop your own business network with a view to increasing your origination capabilities over the medium term
Qualifications
  • ACCA / ACA fully qualified or equivalent
  • Strong experience in a corporate finance environment, including leading transactions
  • Experience with buyside, sellside, and MBO transactions, including private equity
  • Ability to identify targets and prospects for M&A activity
  • Degree educated and / or Chartered accountant with at least three years’ experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Excel / financial modelling skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with key financial data providers such as Capital IQ / Bloomberg
