Job description

If you've built your foundations in Transaction Services and want to move into M&A, this is an opportunity to make that transition without leaving your existing skill set behind.

You'll join an established Corporate Finance team where you'll be trained in live M&A deal execution from the outset, working directly alongside experienced dealmakers across the transaction lifecycle. At the same time, your Transaction Services experience will be highly valued, giving you the opportunity to contribute to and help develop the team's due diligence capability.

It's an opportunity to broaden from TS into a more rounded Corporate Finance role, combining transaction analysis and due diligence with hands-on M&A experience.

Package

  • Competitive base salary, expected to be in the region of £60,000–£65,000, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate
  • Lucrative bonus structure
  • Direct mentoring from experienced Corporate Finance professionals
  • Hands‑on exposure to live M&A transactions
  • Clear long-term progression within a growing Corporate Finance team

Why this business

Our client is a well-established accountancy and advisory firm with a long-standing reputation for delivering specialist advice.

Its Corporate Finance practice is continuing to develop its M&A and Transaction Services capabilities, creating an opportunity for an Analyst who can bring existing due diligence experience while developing into a broader M&A professional.

You'll join a team where you'll have direct access to senior dealmakers, meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to build experience across both M&A execution and Transaction Services, rather than remaining within a narrowly defined due diligence role.

What you'll be doing

  • Work alongside experienced Corporate Finance professionals on live M&A transactions, developing hands‑on experience across the deal lifecycle
  • Apply your existing Transaction Services experience to financial due diligence assignments
  • Analyse historical and forecast financial performance, identifying key commercial and financial trends
  • Support financial analysis, valuation, modelling and transaction‑related research
  • Build robust Excel workbooks, analytical reports and client presentations
  • Work directly with senior members of the team and develop your understanding of how M&A transactions are originated, managed and executed
  • Contribute to the continued development of the firm's due diligence offering
  • Build a broader Corporate Finance skill set combining Transaction Services and M&A deal advisory

What you'll bring

  • Around 2–3 years' experience within Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence
  • Ideally, experience gained within a lower mid-market accountancy or advisory environment
  • Strong financial analysis skills and confidence interrogating financial information
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to produce high‑quality analysis and client‑facing materials
  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical thinking and communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing beyond Transaction Services into M&A
  • ACA qualification is not essential; candidates from different professional qualification backgrounds will be considered

Who this suits

This opportunity is particularly well suited to someone currently working in Transaction Services who wants to make the move into M&A deal advisory.

You may have spent the last couple of years building strong financial due diligence and analytical skills but now want broader exposure: working on live M&A transactions, understanding the full deal process and developing the commercial and execution skills required to become a rounded Corporate Finance professional.

You'll still use the TS expertise you've developed, but it won't define your role. From the outset, the team will train you in M&A execution while giving you opportunities to contribute to due diligence assignments where your existing experience adds immediate value.

For someone looking to make the TS‑to‑M&A transition within the lower mid-market, this offers a particularly strong platform to do so.
