Job summary

Brabners is looking for a Solicitor to join its Corporate Defence team in Leeds. The role focuses on criminal defence and privately funded, white-collar work, with potential to develop expertise and responsibility over time.

The successful candidate will have 1–3 years PQE, a strong criminal law background, and experience with Legal Aid crime. You will handle cases, work with clients, and grow within a supportive, growing team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with around 1–3 years’ PQE in criminal law.
• Strong background in criminal defence and Legal Aid crime.
• Experience managing cases and directly representing clients.
• Experience as a Duty Solicitor or in duty solicitor work is a plus.
• Keen to develop within privately funded and white-collar crime work.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Corporate Defence team on criminal and corporate defence matters.
• Gain exposure to privately funded and white-collar crime work.
• Assist on complex cases while taking increasing responsibility for own matters.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients.
• Build relationships with clients and colleagues, and collaborate with senior lawyers.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has developed a strong grounding in criminal defence and is looking to build their career within privately funded and white-collar crime work.You may currently be working within a criminal Legal Aid practice, managing your own caseload and representing clients across a range of criminal matters.
