Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an Associate in Credit Risk – Corporates in London to deliver credit risk analysis on corporate transactions and manage a portfolio of EMEA clients. You will apply credit fundamentals, assess leverage, and monitor risk in lending and derivatives activities.

The role requires collaboration withFront Office and Risk teams, strong analytical and communication skills, and a focus on risk mitigation and regulatory awareness. London-based with a broad global franchise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of credit risk management experience in corporate credit risk.
• Experience in investment banking products including loan products and derivatives.
• Understanding of regulatory rating requirements and application of such guidance.
• Strong documentation, analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse deal team and support senior members.
• Ability to present credit analyses and recommendations to senior management.
• Proficiency in Excel including financial modelling, cash flow forecasting and sensitivity analysis.
• Fluency in English; German language is a plus.
• Pursuit of CFA/FRM is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing the credit and financial strength of corporate borrowers and counterparties using fundamental analysis.
• Support review of lending and underwriting transactions (LBO, M&A) and contribute to risk appetite and regulatory ratings.
• Contribute to sector analysis to assess portfolio concentrations or trends.
• Collaborate with Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Legal, Operations and Compliance to support derivatives approvals and risk mitigants.
• Analyze risks across lending, trading and derivative products.
• Manage relationships with other areas of the firm to ensure alignment and risk controls.
