Chadwick Nott - East and West Midlands, NHC & East Anglia is seeking an experienced Corporate & Commercial Locum Solicitor to join a Gloucester-based firm on an interim basis.

The role is predominantly remote with initial attendance in the Gloucester office for equipment collection and induction; start ASAP and run for around three months with potential extension, with flexible days and workload considered.

Corporate & Commercial Locum Solicitor

Location: Predominantly remote, for a Gloucester-based firm

Days per week: 3 (with potential to increase)

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 3+ months

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate & Commercial Locum Solicitor to join a busy and growing team on an interim basis.

The firm is seeking a commercially minded lawyer who can start immediately and quickly integrate into the department, providing support whilst a permanent recruitment process is undertaken. The initial requirement is for 3 days per week, although there is flexibility for additional days depending on workload.

The successful candidate will manage an existing caseload of corporate and commercial matters and be confident handling work with minimal supervision. This role is suited to an experienced solicitor who can hit the ground running and provide practical, commercially focused advice to clients.

The caseload will include a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, and responsibilities are likely to include:

• Advising on general corporate and commercial transactions
• Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements
• Supporting clients on business and corporate governance matters
• Managing matters from instruction through to completion
• Providing technical support and guidance where required
• Supervising and reviewing work undertaken by a junior solicitor
• Maintaining excellent standards of client service and file management

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong background in corporate and commercial law
• Experience managing their own caseload independently
• The ability to quickly pick up and progress matters
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A pragmatic and commercially focused approach

The role can be undertaken predominantly remotely, with client meetings generally conducted via Teams. Candidates will be required to attend the Gloucester office initially to collect equipment and complete a brief induction.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Corporate & Commercial Locum seeking a flexible assignment with the potential for extension beyond the initial three-month term.
