Finance, Accounting & Middle Office Search for Private Markets and Funds Management

A high growth mid-market Private Equity fund is looking to add a recently qualified accountant or finalist (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) to their best-in-class finance team. The ideal candidate has experience in corporate accounting and/or relevant funds or FS experience from a Big 4/Top 10 firm.

This is an end-to-end role suited to someone comfortable with hands-on financial, management, and group accounting, with some involvement in daily transactional work and bookkeeping. The finance team comprises 12 members, fostering a sociable, supportive, and flexible culture, with opportunities for progression and long-term career development.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and posting of nominal ledger transactions
2. Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow forecasts
3. Prepare monthly management accounting packs for UK entities
4. Handle quarterly VAT return preparation
5. Prepare annual PSA
6. Manage Portfolio Company / aborted deals expense recharges
7. Support the preparation of the Annual Budget and monthly reporting
8. Assist with financial statements for UK entities
9. Participate in the annual audit process
10. Prepare quarterly GPS and Service Fees invoices
11. Support the Fund Finance team, including review of quarterly accounts from Fund Administrators
12. Assist the AP team with processing expenses and payments

Your background:

1. Degree or equivalent qualification
2. Recent accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, ACCA, or finalist
3. Experience in a smaller to medium-sized fund or in a top 4/top 20 accounting firm, seeking a move into industry with relevant funds or financial services clients
4. Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and meet deadlines
5. Flexible, adaptable, hands-on attitude, willing to handle ad-hoc tasks and routine workflows
6. Strong numeracy and Excel skills
7. Excellent communication skills, positive outlook

Salary is approximately £60-70k depending on experience, plus benefits and bonus.

UK working experience is essential; visa sponsorship is not available.
