Aztec Group in Guernsey is looking for a Financial Accountant to assist in the day-to-day accounting and administration of corporate entities and trusts acting as Special Purpose Vehicles under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager. You will handle bookkeeping, interim and annual accounts, and liaise with clients.

You will support audit queries, company secretarial filings, and mentor Trainee Accountants while building strong client relationships.

Competenze

• 1+ year experience in a financial services environment.
• Studying towards a relevant professional qualification (ACCA/ACA).
• Sound technical knowledge with in-house Aztec Academy training.
• Computer literacy essential.
• Ability to develop close working relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Full Guernsey work rights

About the role:

Reports to Financial Reporting Manager

The purpose of this position is to assist with the routine day-to-day accounting and administration of avariety of corporate entities and trusts acting as Special Purpose Vehicles within fund structures underthe direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Complete all aspects of the accounting of corporate entities and trusts including bookkeeping,interim and annual accounts preparation and ad hoc reporting and liaise with clients as necessary
• Deal with routine audit queries
• Assist with some aspects of company secretarial matters including the preparation of filings forcompanies house and other regulatory bodies
• Assist with training of Trainee Accountants, acting as a mentor to junior staff
• Establish good working relationships with clients
• Undertake routine office and clerical tasks where necessary
• Maintain accurate client records within Viewpoint and other company systems

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• 1+ year experience in a financial services environment, although transferrable skills from another industry will be considered
• The candidate will ideally be studying towards a relevant professional qualification(preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level)
• Sound technical knowledge (relevant in-house training to be provided through the Aztec Academy)
• Computer literacy skills are essential
• Very good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
• Full Guernsey work rights are required as we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position
