Job summary

Iconic Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support the Financial Accounting function across our luxury portfolio. You will maintain records, prepare journals, manage fixed assets, prepayments and accruals, and assist with audit and statutory reporting.

  • 2–4 years accounting experience within a multi-entity, hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Experience with reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet month-end deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and capex tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly prepayment and accrual schedules.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and recharge processes across multiple entities.
  • Support general ledger accounting, including journal preparation and account maintenance.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and proper support.
  • Assist covenant reporting and preparation of supporting financial information.
  • Support year-end audit process, including audit schedules and responding to queries.
  • Assist with preparation of statutory accounts and working papers.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvements and enhanced financial reporting across the portfolio.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting, the Corporate Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Financial Accounting function across the Iconic Hotels & Resorts portfolio.

You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journals and reconciliations, supporting fixed asset accounting, managing prepayments and accruals, and assisting with audit and statutory reporting requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their experience within a multi-property luxury hospitality business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and capital expenditure tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly prepayment and accrual schedules.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and recharge processes across multiple entities.
  • Support general ledger accounting, including journal preparation and account maintenance.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurate and fully supported.
  • Assist with covenant reporting and preparation of supporting financial information.
  • Support the year-end audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting working papers.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.

About You:
  • 2-4 years accounting experience within a multi-entity, hotel, or hospitality environment.

Desirable:
  • Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW.
  • Experience with fixed asset accounting and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Exposure to audit processes and lender reporting requirements.
  • Experience using systems such as SAP ByDesign, Sage, Infor, SUN, Opera PMS, or Micros.
  • Knowledge of USALI and hospitality accounting practices.
