Job summary

Core Physicians Seacoast Family Practice, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Stratham, NH team. The role provides clinical, clerical, and administrative support under supervision of a physician, nurse, or APP, delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED is required.
  • CMA/RMA/CCMA certification or registration is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-visit work and obtain vital signs.
  • Provide medication reconciliation and assist with examinations.
  • Follow standard procedures for patient messaging and scheduling.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms.
  • Schedule pre-admission testing and follow-up calls after procedures.
  • Greet patients, check-in/out, and manage charts and billing.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, safety, and infection control policies.
  • Assist with scribing and documentation as needed.
  • Monitor team metrics and contribute to care coordination.
  • Provide coverage for other Core Offices as needed.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical, clerical, and administrative support to the practice under the direct supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Nurse. This role helps ensure efficient operations while delivering outstanding service and care to patients.

Requirements:

  • High School or GED
  • For hires after 11/28/2011: CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration required or within 6 months of hire OR credentialed through a formal training program that includes testing of knowledge
  • BLS within 6 months of hire

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Perform clinical duties such as pre-visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assistingproviderswithexaminations and/or procedures.
    2.Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization as required. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
    3.Following standard work procedures and messaging policy, respond to the patient phone portal message on the sameday.
    4.Use standing protocols to complete pre-visit work, close gaps in care, administrate vaccines, and completeprescription refills.
    5.May schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing and place follow-up calls to patients after surgery.
    6.May perform any of the following daily administrative duties of the practice: greeting/check-in/check-out, schedulingpatients, answering telephones, taking messages, organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patientrecords, collection of co-pays and patient balances, post-payment and adjustment transactions, and balance dailyjournal.
    7.Maintains and adheres to established CorePhysicians policies and procedures and federal regulations, including, patientconfidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards; responsible for participating in the daily huddle and completing any actions required and working as a member of the care team to ensure propercommunication between all team members.
    8.In some practices, the MA may perform scribing duties; accompany the provider into the patient examination room and accurately and efficiently document the encounter; order any labs, make referrals, and order prescriptions that havebeen recommended by the provider.
    9.Responsible for monitoring care team metrics to evaluate improvement metrics and outcome.
    10.Provides coverage for other Core Offices as needed, based on priorities, and performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:

$20.00 - $29.49

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geographyof work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
