Your role: This is a new role as part of the Marketing team and will work across all brand and marketing communications for The Times and Sunday Times. The role will report into the Head of Marketing but also work closely with the CRM and retention teams. The Times and Sunday Times are incredible brands to work on with a long history of smart, intelligent writing so this is an exciting role to work on with real variety in the day to day projects.

Day to day you will:

Creating engaging and compelling copy that is rooted in customer insight across Times marketing elements. Our agency works on most of our bigger advertising copy but this role will include creating copy for digital and paid social elements.
Develop clear and engaging copy for our CRM communications to customers and prospects including email, SMS, push and product messaging.
Work closely with the marketing and editorial teams to craft key messaging for new products and services we are launching.
Champion our Tone of Voice and bring it to life in all our copy, maintaining consistency across all channels. Lead regular reviews and motivate teams to use our TOV including finessing of AI prompts to use our TOV in AI assisted copy generation
Creating customer letters for example around price migration and subscription value comms.
Create copy for B2B corporate programme packs and partnership comms.
Conduct regular competitor analysis in our industry and beyond to gain insight to ensure we are creating best in class copy.

What we’re looking for from you:

A skilled copywriter with extensive experience of working in house for a major brand, previous experience working for a media or news brand would be useful.
Proven experience and flexible approach for writing engaging copy in a variety of styles and formats, adapting to different audiences and purposes. The ability to demonstrate creative and engaging narratives that convert customers is essential.
CRM experience: Understanding of CRM platforms and best practices for engaging customers through email, SMS, and other channels is essential
Understanding of branding and messaging: Ability to craft copy that reflects the brand's voice and value over different platforms including knowledge of digital platforms.
Experience in crafting product copy and working on user experience and customer journeys would be beneficial.
Detail orientated with a keen eye for grammar, spelling and punctuation is essential
Excellent collaborator who is skilled at working cross teams.
Enjoys working in a fast paced environment and not phased about having to turn around copy to tight deadlines
Passionate about news and media
An interest in behavioural insight and how we work this into our comms is desirable but not essential
