The Opportunity

As the school's Caretaker, you will:

Maintain the school buildings and grounds to a high standard.

Carry out routine repairs, maintenance and basic DIY tasks.

Complete regular health and safety inspections and maintain accurate records.

Open and secure the school site each day, ensuring the premises remain safe and secure.

Support the management of contractors and oversee maintenance works when required.

Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for assemblies, examinations, parents' evenings and school events.

Monitor site equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.

Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Support emergency procedures and respond appropriately to site-related incidents.

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, maintenance or site management role.

Possess practical maintenance and DIY skills across a range of tasks.

Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures within a school or similar environment.

Be organised, reliable and able to work independently using their own initiative.

Take pride in maintaining high standards across the school site.

Have excellent communication and customer service skills when working with staff, pupils, visitors and contractors.

Be flexible, dependable and committed to supporting the wider school community.
