Job Description

Purpose of Role
As an Assistant Manager, you will be part of the delivery team to ensure that the annual tax compliance work is completed and to assist with planning opportunities, working within a team to serve a wide-ranging portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities
Client compliance work

  • Deliver high-quality service to clients
  • Manage a portfolio of clients including sole traders, partners, HNWIs, non-UK domiciliaries, non-UK residents, partnerships, and trusts
  • Ensure all aspects of compliance, including accounts, tax returns, and tax computations, are completed
  • Make all beneficial elections and claims
Client planning work
  • Identify potential planning opportunities
  • Prepare reports for clients
  • Attend client meetings
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding personal tax affairs
Yearly routine checks and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Evelyn Partners' procedures on the annual tax cycle
  • Maintain and collate client information
  • Handle client billing and time analysis
Training and Development
  • Attend internal training sessions
Supporting Colleagues
  • Assist colleagues with chargeable and non-chargeable work as needed
Practice Development
  • Participate in business development and profile-raising activities
  • Leverage marketing and PR opportunities
Qualifications & Skills
Key Competencies:
  • Planning and Organising: Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • Customer Focus: Responding promptly to client needs and meeting deadlines

Education & Qualifications:
  • ACA/CTA or equivalent qualification
Experience & Skills:
  • Experience in a professional services environment
  • Knowledge of personal tax compliance, with some exposure to planning/advisory work
