Job summary

Norse Catering is hiring a Cook Manager at Browick Road Infant School. You’ll lead the kitchen team, cook and serve balanced meals, and supervise a dining experience for students and staff.

The role is term-time only (38 weeks) with a 28.75-hour week and a pro rata salary (£27,001.58) plus 28 days holiday. DBS check required and opportunities for training.

• Manage the kitchen team, cook and serve lunches for young people and staff.
• Ensure food safety and health & safety compliance and manage allergens.
• Utilise the kitchen management system tablet for updates and paperwork minimisation.
• Collaborate with central teams on menus, promotions and compliance.

The opportunity:

• Permanent
• 28.75 hours per week
• Mon – Fri

This is a term-time only position, working 38 weeks per year, offering you a great work-life balance*.* Your pay will be pro rata, you will receive 1/12th of your salary every month, regardless of whether its school holidays or not!

A day in the life:

You will become an integral part of the school, managing the kitchen team, preparing, cooking and serving lunches for young people and school staff, ensuring an engaging and interactive dining experience for all.

Our central team will support you in managing food safety, health and safety and food allergens whilst our dedicated menu, promotions and compliance teams will provide you with menu cycles, special diet menus and promotional posters giving you time to focus on food.

Our electronic tablet will provide you with access to our kitchen management system and act as a communication tool providing you with regular updates and keeping paperwork to a minimum.
