Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Cook/Chef Assistant for Strathallan School in Forgandenny, Perth. The role involves supporting a fast-paced catering environment and delivering high standards of food service and customer care to pupils, staff and visitors.

Full training is provided, and the position requires an Enhanced PVG check. Working hours are 40 per week, five days out of seven, with shifts starting as early as 6:00am and finishing by 7:30pm. Free parking and meals on shift are offered.

• Salary: £13.50 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7
• Shift Times: Earliest start 6:00am, latest finish 7:30pm. Occasional hospitality events may require a finish up to 9:00pm.

No previous experience needed as full training would be given.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help provide an exceptional dining experience for pupils, staff, and visitors while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and present food to the required standards.
• Assist with food preparation and service.
• Replenish food during service periods.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
• Clear and clean service areas following meal periods.
• Assist with stock control, deliveries, and the safe storage of food, including allergen management and stock rotation.
• Ensure all food safety, health and safety, and company procedures are followed.
• Support hospitality functions and school events, including occasional evening and weekend work.
• Report any incidents, accidents, near misses, food safety concerns, or equipment issues promptly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and professional working environment.
