Job summary

Fife Council is seeking an Assistant Cook for Oakley Campus in Dunfermline. The role covers breakfast, morning break and lunch services during term time, with duties including food preparation, serving, and general kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and beverages and organise food service.
  • Transport and serve meals and maintain dining area.
  • Wash up, set up and clear tables and manage kitchen duties.
  • Clean kitchen, surroundings and equipment, and complete required paperwork.

Do you have Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent? This work is about ensuring pupils and staff are provided with meals throughout the school day during term time - covering breakfast, morning break and lunch. The Person Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent is required. You will be required to attend an induction training day before starting in post. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. Oakley Campus
  • Working 20 hours per week Monday to Friday on a 38 week contract
  • Duties within this school include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food. Duties may include transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, it's surround and equipment. Completing required paperwork including electronic returns.
  • You will earn a competitive salary of £25,604.23 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:
  • £13.64 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Pay is annualised (equal instalments every 4 week pay period).
  • Membership of Fife Pension Fund which is part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).
