Location: Gretna Primary School

Salary: £17,528.01 - £18,610.49

Hours: 28 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 1:51pm

Role Overview

This position involves taking charge of a large school kitchen, with guidance and support from your line manager. You must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience, along with cooking skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Providing early years and school meals to children and young people
  2. Managing the kitchen budget
  3. Ensuring compliance with H.A.S.A.W. and Cooksafe standards
  4. Allergen awareness and management
  5. Organising the daily operations of the kitchen
  6. Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  7. Problem management and customer complaint resolution
  8. Following council processes and procedures
  9. Cash handling and technology use
  10. Maintaining customer awareness and understanding current food trends

Additional Information

This role is considered regulated work with vulnerable children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join or update the PVG Scheme prior to employment.

Applicants with residence outside the UK in the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities.
