Gretna Primary School

£17,528.01 - £18,610.49

You will be required to work 28 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Monday to Friday 8:15am - 1:51pm

This position is to take charge of a large school kitchen. You will be given direction and support from your line manager.

You must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience, as well as cooking skills and experience.

Part of your duties will include:

  1. Providing Early Years and School Meals to children and young people
  2. Managing the kitchen budget
  3. Responsible for H.A.S.A.W. and Cooksafe
  4. Allergen Awareness
  5. Organising the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  6. Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  7. Approaching problem management with ease
  8. Dealing with complaints
  9. Following Council processes and procedures
  10. Cash handling
  11. Using technology
  12. Customer awareness
  13. Staying informed about current food trends and customer preferences

This post is considered regulated work with vulnerable children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
