Job summary

Bartholamew Lodge Nursing Home, located near Wednesbury town centre, seeks a dedicated Cook (Bank hours) to prepare nutritious home-cooked meals for residents. Contribute to menus, manage stock, and maintain a safe, hygienic kitchen that supports residents’ wellbeing. Flexible hours and a meaningful role in a caring environment.

The successful candidate will plan hot and cold meals, consider dietary needs, and work as part of a warm, supportive team in a home caring for up to 30 residents.

Qualifications

• Passionate about cooking nutritious, home-cooked meals.
• Able to tailor meals to dietary requirements and preferences.
• Experience in a care setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of food supplies and deliveries.
• Plan menus with fresh ingredients and balanced nutrition.
• Stock rotation and waste management.
• Ensure kitchen hygiene and cleanliness; store equipment properly.
• Maintain and clean kitchen and dining areas; comply with hygiene standards.
• Communicate effectively and work well in a team.
