Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Cook for a full-time role at our site in Bulford, Wiltshire, serving military personnel with fresh, high-quality meals.

You'll work 40 hours per week across fixed shift patterns (06:00-15:00 or 12:00-20:30), with a supportive team and opportunities to develop your catering skills within a large organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in catering, hospitality, or food service.
• Culinary experience and passion for good-quality food.
• Desirable City & Guilds or NVQ qualifications in professional cookery.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (IOSH desirable).
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen with high standards.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail and pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, high-quality meals in a busy kitchen.
• Focus on presentation, quality, and consistency of each dish.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (EHO-compliant).
• Work with a friendly catering team to deliver efficient service.
• Prepare meals for military personnel ensuring a reliable dining experience.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service.
• Support events and functions to showcase cooking skills.
• Take responsibility for bulk cooking while maintaining high standards.

What you’ll do:

What you bring:

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
• Culinary experience and a genuine passion for preparing good-quality food
• Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery are desirable
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (IOSH qualification desirable)
• The ability to work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team while maintaining high standards
• A positive attitude, good attention to detail and pride in your work
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
