Job summary

Greensleeves Care is seeking an Assistant Cook to join our team in England. You will prepare, cook and serve meals for residents, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety throughout each shift.

The role requires kitchen experience, a professional approach to food service, and the ability to supervise staff. Relevant food hygiene qualifications are desirable; DBS checks apply.

As an Assistant Cook, you will:

• Ensure that seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables are used whenever possible.
• Cater for special occasions within the home.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals.
• Clear and wash up after meal preparation.
• Ensure that kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed.
• Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned after use, and at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.

• Experience of working in a kitchen environment
• Experience of serving food in a professional environment
• Relevant food hygiene and food preparation qualifications
• An understanding of the importance of food for residents, including a balanced and varied diet
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in managing and supervising staff
