Job summary

ST PHILIPS CARE LIMITED is recruiting a reliable cook for Pittendreich Care Centre to prepare and serve nutritious meals within a busy kitchen. You will work within budget constraints and bring home-cooked flavours to residents who prefer traditional dishes.

The role requires adherence to hygiene standards, training, and DBS/PVG checks. Experience in care or a related kitchen environment is valued, with full training provided to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets.
• Experience in care, hospital or commercial kitchen is advantageous but training is provided.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Ability to relate to residents in a kind and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• To prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• To work in accordance with the home’s policies.
• To carry out kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
• To use resources effectively and order food.
• Report any issues or matters raised by residents concerning catering to the Care Centre Manager
• Attend mandatory and in-house training as required.
• Understand COSHH.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required.

Cook - Pittendreich Care Centre

30 hours Available.

We are recruiting for a reliable and experienced cook to join our busy kitchen and team. A person who has high standards in quality and presentation, delivering the very best nutritional meals.

You would be able to work within budgets as set by the home manager.

At Welbourn Manor Care Centre our residents prefer good old fashioned home cooking for example: Sunday Roast's and for puddings our residents enjoy a jam sponge or crumble with custard.

For Birthdays we make a special effort to celebrate so our Cooks and KA's make a range of cakes and sponges for these special occasion's

If you have a passion for cooking and a passion for the elderly and would like to join a supportive and inclusive team then this could be the role for you!

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS / PVG check.

As a Cook You Will Be Responsible For

• To prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.

As Cook It Preferable For You To Have

• Minimum qualification NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering, Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets
• Experience in a care, hospital or commercial kitchen setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided
• Have good verbal and written skills
• To have the ability to relate to our residents in a kind and courteous manner
