  • EMPLOYEE SALARY IS DEPENDENT UPON JOB COMPETENCE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS.
Key Responsibilities
  • To organise, cook and prepare a healthy, balanced diet for up to 70 children a day aged 0 to 5 years in accordance with the nursery menus.
  • Take into consideration daily those children who have special dietary and allergy requirements and prepare a suitable alternative.
  • Prepare a suitably balanced rotating menu considering dietary, allergy and cultural requirements of the children.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene, health and safety are always maintained in the kitchen.
  • Follow the Safer Food Better Business guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records of temperatures, cleaning, stock lists etc.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Manager and Catering Manager to provide a high‑quality standard within the kitchen, ensuring all responsibilities and duties are upheld to the highest of standards.
  • Ensure when purchasing food that we follow a set budget and rotate food to avoid wastage.
  • Complete daily cleaning of the kitchen and monthly cleaning checklist on larger cleaning jobs such as the cooker/oven, splash backs and store cupboards.
