Job summary

Bupa is seeking an Assistant Chef to join the Kitchen Team at our care home in Leeds. The role focuses on preparing nutritious, varied menus and ensuring high standards of food quality for residents.

You will help deliver an excellent dining experience and support the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service. Part-time position (20 hours/week) from 7am to 5pm, with opportunities to contribute ideas and participate in events and celebrations.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen.
• Relevant hygiene certificates.

Responsibilities

• Use passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of residents.
• Propose and implement ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping residents feel at home.
• Train and manage kitchen team in the preparation, cooking and serving of food.
• Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, and manage orders and deliveries.
• Cater for special events or seasonal activities such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays as required.
