Temporary Cook - Inverness, UK


Our client based in Inverness is looking for a temporary cook to cover some dates in the next few weeks. Do you have availability to step in and assist a local Care Home here in Inverness?



Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and available.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative flair and a passion for cooking with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A Basic Disclosure is essential for this role, suitable candidates must already have this.
