Job description

About the role:

Feeding our children healthy, nutritionally balanced food is key to the wellbeing of our little ones. From nourished tummies to nurtured minds, we work hard to encourage health and wellbeing right from the start. If you’re looking for a role where you can promote wholesome food for children, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Co-op Little Pioneers operates with a different ethos than other nurseries. Our child-centric approach emphasizes fun, which helps nurture a kinder and more considerate generation. Your core skills will contribute to our mission to be rated outstanding by colleagues, families, and children alike.

Who are we looking for?

  1. Have an enhanced DBS check or pass one with flying colours
  2. Food Hygiene Level 2 or equivalent, or be willing to complete the course within the first week of work, or have a certified equivalent
  3. Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and COSHH requirements
  4. Experience catering for large numbers
  5. Good budget management skills to ensure cost efficiencies
  6. Knowledge of managing dietary requirements
  7. Experience working with Environmental Health
  8. Excellent organisational and time management skills
  9. Strong listening and communication skills

What can we offer you?

  • Career Growth: Opportunities for progression within the nursery and beyond. Develop into roles such as a nursery manager or further—dreams and aspirations are the only limits.
  • Learning and Development: Support to develop your skills and knowledge through supervision, personal development plans, learning resources, and our LEAP Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Discounts and Perks: Up to 20% off food shopping, £500 off holidays, and 60% off childcare fees—potentially saving up to £7000 annually.
  • Wellbeing: Resources and tools to support your mental and financial wellbeing, including wellbeing apps.
  • Doing Good Together: Up to 3 days off to volunteer during working hours.

Our child-centric approach aims to nurture a kinder, more considerate generation. Your skills in education and development will help us achieve outstanding ratings from colleagues, families, and children alike.
