Job summary

TechMet Ltd. in Co Antrim is seeking an experienced Site installation engineer to lead installation, mechanical setup and commissioning of conveyor systems at customer sites.

The role requires hands-on engineering skills, independent work, and willingness to travel and work away from home. A full UK driving licence is essential, with a 4-day work week offered and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ideally - proven experience in the conveyor, materials handling, or related mechanical industry.
• Hands-on experience installing and commissioning industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Practical problem-solving skills on site.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with electrical engineers and project teams.
• Flexibility to travel and work away from home.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install conveyor systems of all types, including mechanical setup, alignment, and adjustments.
• Commission systems in collaboration with the companies electrical engineers.
• Conduct performance testing, troubleshooting, and final handover to clients.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports, documentation, and site records.
• Work safely and efficiently on-site, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Travel regularly and work away from home as required.
• Support junior engineers and apprentices when required.
