Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is recruiting a Conveyor Belting Fabricator & Field Service Engineer to join our engineering team in Greater Manchester with UK-wide travel. The role blends workshop fabrication with on-site installation, maintenance and repair across customer sites, ensuring safe, efficient operation of conveyor systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with conveyor belts, mechanical maintenance and fault-solving, plus a willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble conveyor belts to customer specifications in the workshop.
• Carry out belt joining and splicing methods.
• Install guides, cleats, tracking systems and specialist components on belts.
• Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently, following drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings for fabrication.
• Maintain accurate production records and quality inspections before dispatch.
• Install and replace belts at customer sites and assist with breakdowns.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service visits to minimise downtime.
• Build strong on-site relationships and provide technical guidance on maintenance best practices.
