Job summary

Michelmores LLP in Exeter or Cambridge is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to support our experienced Residential Property team. You will assist with residential transactions and deliver a first-class service to clients.

The role requires prior residential property experience, a client-facing approach, excellent organization, and meticulous attention to detail. You will work within a flexible, open and collaborative environment and have opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential property work is essential.
• Experience of working in a client facing role.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Experience of working to compliance and file maintenance procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to liaise with clients.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking file management including deeds/documents, archiving and e-filing.
• Drafting contracts, initial letters, protocol forms, SDLTs/TR1s.
• Submitting property searches/Land Registry searches.
• Drafting and submitting Land Registry applications via the Land Registry Portal/Infotrack.
• Managing post exchange and completion formalities.
• Supporting on incoming and outgoing post formalities as required.
• Complying with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Managing files diligently and review each regularly.
• Understanding client accounts obligations and ensure bills comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

What sort of work?

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our highly experienced Residential Property team in our Exeter or Cambridge office.

In this role, you will support the team in residential transactions and delivering a first-class service to our clients.

This will include:

• Undertaking file management to include, scheduling of deeds and documents, completing the archiving process and complying the e-filing.
• Drafting of contracts, initial letters, protocol forms, completion statements/SDLTs/TR1s.
• Submitting property searches/Land Registry searches.
• Drafting and submitting Land Registry applications via the Land Registry Portal/Infotrack.
• Managing post exchange and completion formalities.
• Supporting on incoming and outgoing post formalities as required
• Complying with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Managing files diligently and review each regularly.
• Understanding the obligations relating to client accounts and ensure that the preparation and service of bills complies with Solicitors Accounts Rules

Who are we looking for?

The role is based in our Exeter or Cambridge office and the ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in residential property work is essential.
• Experience of working in a client facing role.
• Demonstrable experience of consistently delivering exceptional customer service standards.
• Experience of working to compliance and file maintenance procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills and experience of multi-tasking and an ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a flexible and proactive way
• Excellent interpersonal skills; effective communicator at all levels (written and verbal) as the successful candidate will be liaising with clients.
