A leading law firm in Barnsley seeks a Conveyancing Assistant to join their team. The role involves managing property transactions, conducting client checks, and providing administrative support. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, IT literacy, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
Our client is a leading law firm based in Barnsley with a long established reputation and extensive specialist expertise in the areas of Family Law, Property, Commercial, Wills, Trusts & Future Planning, Personal Injury, Employment and Dispute Resolution. Due to continued success they are now looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to the team.
THE ROLE:
Taking instructions and opening new files
Conducting initial client checks such as ID checks, credit checks and proof of affordability checks
Overseeing sale and purchase transactions
Conducting property searches
Liaising with mortgage provider/brokers
Organising and managing legal documentation
Handling administrative support duties and managing filing
Preparing client packs for sign off
THE CANDIDATE:
You will;
Have good social skills with a clear communication style both orally (in person and on the telephone) and in writing;
Have experience in dealing with members of the public face-to-face;
Be IT literate and, after training, be able to operate a computer-based case management system;
Be able to work under pressure as part of a small team;
Be sensitive to cultural issues in a diverse community;
Be able to work on your own initiative;
Have good organisational skills.
