Job summary

Trane UK Ltd is seeking a proactive Controls Technician to support customer sites across Thames Valley. You will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC control systems, applying air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.

You will work with internal and external partners on new facility set ups and retrofits, maintain safety standards, and communicate clearly with service desks, sales and operations to drive customer satisfaction on every project.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a service or field technician.
  • Excellent customer service and communication.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away overnight.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Commission, program, and test HVAC control systems on customer sites.
  • Document point-to-point verification and sequence of operations.
  • Represent the company and ensure customer satisfaction on assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with service desk, sales, and operations to share key insights.
  • Maintain safety and asset security and follow blueprints/engineering specs.

The primary objective will be commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems This role is an opportunity to utilize your knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts, whilst giving you the opportunity to work with internal and external partners ranging from new facility set ups to existing facility retro fits.**Key Responsibilities:****Customer and Technical:*** Responsible for commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting, and servicing on assigned projects.* Documenting point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements.* Represents the company as the direct customer contact responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.* Maintains and enhances knowledge on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.* Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units within systems.* Collaboration with Service desk, Sales, and Operations Team: Establish strong communication channels to share key customer insights.* Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on completed invoiced work orders.* Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with customers through exceptional customer service.* Communicates & coordinates with local field service representatives, regions service leaders and senior technicians, and customers on updates and to drive continuous improvement.* Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.**Skills and Capabilities:*** Proven experience in service or field-based technician role.* Strong knowledge of customer service principles.* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate technicians to deliver customer experiences.* Effective communication skills* Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.* Proficiency in using, Apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.* Knowledge of manufacturing industry an advantage* People and communication skills with a positive mindset* Able to work with minimal supervision & a good team player.* Able to cover standby and call outs on a planned scheduled basis to include weekday, weekends and bank holidays with travel and overnight stays to meet the customer needs.* Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.* UK Drivers license as a company vehicle will be allocated* Right to Work status confirmed for Country of application.**You can look forward to:*** Competitive salary and benefits including pension, healthcare, life insurance and wellbeing platforms.* Company van* A fast-paced working environment* An excellent working culture and community* A structured induction plan with continued learning and development.* A key role where you can make a direct contribution to our business.* Opportunity to access technical support, training on newest technology and comprehensive career paths with opportunity for growth.*Not exhaustive - your manager may add additional tasks, as required to complete the company strategy.*
