Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to design, install and maintain PLC and SCADA systems at the Royston site. You’ll work with the project teams to ensure reliability, safety and efficient operation of plant controls.

You will provide expert knowledge of PLCs (Omron/Allen-Bradley) and SCADA (Wonderware Intouch, Ignition, FactoryTalk). The role involves design reviews, incident resolution and ongoing network infrastructure monitoring.

Qualifications

• Formal Electronic/Controls qualification required (Degree/HNC/HND).
• Hands-on PLC fault-finding and programming across Rockwell and Omron platforms.
• Experience integrating PLCs with SCADA/HMI and industrial networks.
• Live production environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems in production.
• Provide software input for projects and address MOC changes.
• Develop and review control strategies for reliability and safety.
• Lead software related breakdowns and field support.
