Job summary

GeoPura is actively seeking an R&D Engineer (Controls) to design, develop and implement advanced control systems for gas‑to‑power and power‑to‑gas projects across the UK. You will apply Siemens TIA Portal, PLCs, DCS and HMIs, shaping energy solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical and operations teams, model and test new control strategies, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Travel across GeoPura sites will be required.

Qualifications

• First-Class degree in a relevant technical discipline with strong academic achievement.
• Equivalent industry knowledge acceptable with demonstrable expertise in controls.
• Experience with energy sector projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for gas-to-power and power-to-gas projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional electrical/mechanical/control teams to optimise performance.
• Develop and implement advanced control algorithms to maximise energy production and reliability.
• Perform system integration, testing, and documentation of designs and procedures.
• Troubleshoot control system issues with Operations and field teams; stay current with industry standards.
• Model, simulate, and analyse control system performance for continuous improvement.
