Job summary

Applied Integration is an established UK systems integrator based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. We specialise in automation and control solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our engineering team on a permanent, office-based basis. You will work on technically challenging automation projects from design through testing and commissioning, designing PLC software, developing HMIs/SCADA, and integrating systems from Rockwell/Siemens with other equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven PLC and industrial automation experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLCs.
• HMI/SCADA development experience and fault-finding skills.
• FAT, SAT and commissioning experience required.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• PLC software design, programming and development.
• HMI and SCADA development and testing.
• Integrate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and industrial equipment.
• Perform FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
• Produce technical design specifications and documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software and project teams.

About Applied Integration

Applied Integration is an established UK systems integrator based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. We specialise in the design and delivery of complex automation and control solutions across a range of industries.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our engineering team.

The Role

You will work on a variety of technically challenging automation projects, supporting projects from initial design and development through to testing and commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

• PLC software design, programming and development
• HMI and SCADA development
• Working with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell and Siemens PLC systems
• Integration of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and industrial equipment
• Industrial communications and networking
• Control system fault finding and troubleshooting
• FAT and SAT activities
• Supporting installation and commissioning
• Producing technical documentation and functional design specifications
• Working alongside electrical, mechanical, software and project engineering teams

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong PLC and industrial automation experience
• Allen-Bradley / Rockwell experience
• Siemens PLC experience
• HMI and/or SCADA development experience
• Industrial control system integration experience
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• FAT, SAT and commissioning experience
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols

Experience with Mitsubishi, Schneider, Beckhoff, Omron, AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, SQL, OPC-UA, MQTT or EtherNet/IP would also be advantageous.
