Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Clevedon is seeking a Controls Engineer to join an established engineering team. You will design, develop, test and support PLC and HMI control software for advanced engineering products, on-site in North Somerset.

The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams across the product lifecycle, producing documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement. A degree or equivalent in Controls or related discipline is preferred, with experience in PLC/HMI

Qualifications

• HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Controls Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience developing PLC and HMI software within an engineering environment.
• Knowledge of PLC programming including Ladder Logic, Structured Text and Function Blocks.
• Experience with HMI programming and technical documentation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Desirable experience: Modbus TCP and EtherCAT communication protocols, PID control loops, functional safety, HAZOP or FMEA techniques, manufacturing or industrial control experience.

A Controls Engineer is required in Clevedon to join an established engineering team, developing PLC and HMI control software for advanced engineering products. This permanent, full‑time position offers a salary up to £43,000 per annum plus a bonus and is based on site in Clevedon, North Somerset.

About the Role

You will design, develop, test and support control solutions throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high‑quality automation systems.
