Job summary

About The Role

As a Control Systems Engineer you will be part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. You will report to the Customer Solutions Manager UK I&C and be located at Gateshead.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and create technical documentation for instrumentation and control systems design for new plant and upgrade projects
• Develop hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics
• Perform functional design, implementation, testing, and site commissioning of control logic
• Support creation of documentation for procurement/manufacturing
• Provide resolution of technical issues including obsolescence
• Development of test procedures and execution of functional tests
• Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years’ experience in industry – of which at least 2 years at Engineer level – nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
• Chartered Member of the IET (preferred)
• Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
• Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied
• Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines on multiple assignments with extensive technical documentation
