Job summary

IC Resources in Oxford is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a growing team, developing advanced control systems for electromechanical, optical, aerospace, and robotic applications.

You will deliver technical documentation, develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) real-time simulations, perform trade-off analyses, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to verify solutions and meet system requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of commercial experience developing control systems for complex electromechanical, optical, aerospace or robotic systems.
• Degree in Control Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related field.
• Practical experience designing, modelling, implementing, and testing control algorithms for dynamic systems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink, or equivalent modelling and simulation platforms.
• Ability to translate system-level requirements into control-system requirements, test cases and verification activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose complex system behaviour using test data and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical documentation and provide technical support to the Software team to implement control algorithms.
• Develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) real-time simulations to test control software requirements against simulation models.
• Perform trade-off analysis of different control concepts, components, and system architectures.
• Maintain pointing budgets and ensure control systems meet overall system requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop, test, and verify advanced control solutions.
