Job summary

Automation Experts in Plymouth is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design, develop and commission electrical and control systems for bespoke machinery across varied industries.

You will modify PLC software (Siemens TIA Portal or Omron), collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software teams, and support projects from feasibility to customer handover while travelling within the UK and internationally when required.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming, ideally Siemens TIA Portal or Omron.
• Strong understanding of automation and machinery control systems.
• Practical engineering problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel within UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and control systems for special purpose machinery.
• Develop and modify PLC software, primarily using Siemens and Omron platforms.
• Work closely with electrical, mechanical and software engineering teams.
• Support projects from feasibility through to build, commissioning and customer handover.
• Assist with technical sales support, quotations and customer problem-solving.
• Research new technologies and solutions to improve equipment performance.

Control Systems Engineer - The Role:

• Design electrical and control systems for special purpose machinery
