Seize this opportunity as a Control System Engineer with Hitachi Energy UK

Based in Stone, Staffordshire, you will operate as the design authority for Control System SCADA solutions of medium complexity.

Working within our Grid Automation team, you'll coordinate a range of SCADA and RTU engineering assignments across the UK, varying in size from moderate to major contracts. You will collaborate closely with our Project Manager and team, as well as maintain direct contact with the customer.

About the role

• Coordinate engineering disciplines across multiple projects
• Prepare comprehensive SCADA project documentation, including Functional Design Specifications, Technical Specifications, General Arrangement Drawings, Circuit Diagrams, System I/O Schedules, Test Specifications, and Operation and Maintenance literature
• Design, plan, integrate, and test SCADA and RTU-related projects from conceptual design to final build
• Perform factory acceptance testing with customers to demonstrate system readiness
• Conduct pre-factory acceptance testing to verify system readiness and identify database and software non-conformances
• Support Project Managers in issuing claims related to scope changes, cost impacts, time impacts, and risk assessments
• Provide cost-effective, quality solutions that meet customer requirements within budget and contractual constraints
• Create work plans and cost estimates

Your Background

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Control Systems and Power Systems engineering
• Strong design capabilities and experience in Control Systems and Power Systems disciplines
• Experience in coordinating engineering projects, including taking a leading role
• Working knowledge of SCADA, RTUs, Communication Networks, and Interfaces
• Knowledge of Substation Network Topology design and industry-standard communication protocols such as IEC61850, IEC101, IEC104, DNP3.0, and Modbus
• Fluent in spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills for internal teams, external partners, and customers
