Job description

Control & Simulation Engineer, Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire

This position is based in Alzenau, near Frankfurt, Germany, at Hyundai Motorsport GmbH, responsible for Hyundai's global motorsport activities, including the World Rally Championship program.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in control software/physical model development and validation for race cars.
  2. Develop and maintain HIL test systems, including software and calibration.
  3. Automate test cases on the HIL system.
  4. Assist in HIL application and testing of control software and hardware.
  5. Specify test cases based on requirements, system behavior models, and robustness analysis.
  6. Develop innovative solutions for model-based development of hybrid/alternative propulsion powertrains.
  7. Manage versions and document results and models.
Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in functional/physical model development, SIL/MIL/HIL testing, and application.
  3. Good understanding of car and powertrain control systems (ICE and hybrid).
  4. Strong knowledge of model-based controls using Matlab/Simulink, Engine Management Systems, and data analysis (Marelli or similar).
  5. Proficiency in debugging C code.
  6. Experience with HIL automatic testing using SimulinkRT or similar tools.
  7. Motorsport experience is an advantage.
  8. Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is required; German is a plus.
  9. Flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
  10. Motivated to manage and deliver tasks effectively.
  11. Ability to work well within a team and foster a motivating environment.
