Birmingham City Council are looking to appoint a candidate for their Control Room. They are seeking a skilled, motivated security professional available for an ASAP start date.
As the face of the Council, you will be at the forefront of helping to deliver the wider neighbourhood agenda by improving the services provided to residents. You will play an integral role in helping residents feel safer, using your local knowledge to develop key priorities for the neighbourhoods you serve.
Your responsibilities include providing a professional and effective public CCTV/Door entry monitoring service, working closely with Mobile Patrol Officers and Night Time Security Service Supervisors to ensure safe, clean, and secure neighbourhoods across Birmingham.
You will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all information, adhering strictly to Birmingham City Council’s CCTV operational procedures and code of practice.
You will operate CCTV and door entry systems in communal areas, multi-storey blocks, and other properties within Birmingham's neighbourhoods.
As an operator, you will respond to customer inquiries, direct response teams to investigate issues, and handle escalations from Mobile Patrol Officers.
You will work a shift system, covering days or nights throughout the week, including weekends and Bank Holidays, 365 days a year. The contract is for 35 hours per week.
We are looking for someone available on an ASAP basis who is willing to undergo the compliance process before starting, including referencing and right-to-work checks.
You must have a security background, ideally with knowledge of CCTV systems. Flexibility across the week is essential, with availability for night and weekend shifts.
This is a 3-month ongoing opportunity with Birmingham City Council, with strong possibilities of extension. During the first 13 weeks, you will be paid an hourly rate of £[rate], then qualify for an uplift to £[rate] per hour, excluding holiday allowance.
