The University of Liverpool is seeking an experienced commercial professional to take on the key role of Contracts Manager (Estates Management).

The University manages a diverse property portfolio, including the main Liverpool City Centre Campus and satellite sites. The Estates and Infrastructure Team, part of Property and Campus Services, maintains over 300 buildings (460,000 m2) across a 255-hectare site, including listed Georgian and Victorian buildings, contemporary structures, conservation areas, and complex research laboratories. The team handles more than 15,000 reactive maintenance works annually via the FM Service Hub.

This vital role involves managing various outsourced service and supply contracts within the Estates and Infrastructure department, ensuring professional handling and industry-standard compliance. The post holder will utilize their market insight to ensure value for money, support colleagues in developing contract management skills, and provide commercial oversight to maintain efficient operations. The role may also offer occasional support for contracts across the wider Property and Campus Services portfolio, contributing to cross-functional collaboration and standardizing contract management and performance reporting.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with NEC and JCT standard forms of contract, including Term Service Contracts and supply or specialist services contracts. A strong understanding of procurement, governance, risk management, and commercial negotiations is essential. The candidate should possess excellent negotiation skills and extensive experience managing the entire contract lifecycle. The role emphasizes making a positive impact and fostering strong collaborative relationships. Candidates from outside the Higher Education sector are encouraged to apply.
