Job summary

Construction is seeking a Contracts Manager with a social housing and M&E background to oversee the delivery of multiple projects across the West Midlands. You will manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safety, timeliness, and high quality while maintaining strong relationships with clients throughout the build.

The role requires a proven track record in social housing contracts, SMSTS/CSCS, a full UK driving licence, and robust cost control and reporting to support the commercial team

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the social housing sector.
• Background in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical installation works is essential.
• Strong track record of managing multiple live sites and subcontractor teams simultaneously.
• Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation, with SMSTS and/or CSCS card held.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to support programme and cost control.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of multiple social housing contracts, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Manage site management teams, subcontractors, and supply chains across a portfolio of live projects.
• Take a lead role in the management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installation works, ensuring compliance with specification and regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, housing associations, and consultants, maintaining strong working relationships.
• Monitor programme, quality, and health & safety performance across all sites, taking corrective action where required.
• Work closely with the commercial team to support cost control, valuations, and variations.
• Chair site meetings and produce regular progress reports for senior management and clients.
• Support the mobilisation of new contracts as the business continues to grow.

The Role
