Heriot Brown In-House Legal Recruitment is supporting a Surrey-based SME to appoint an experienced Contracts Paralegal. The role covers day-to-day contracts processing, review and amendment of standard commercial agreements, and support for drafting while coordinating templates and precedents.
You will work with senior stakeholders and procurement teams across the business, escalating complex issues to senior counsel as needed, and ensuring timely progression of contract work in a hybrid office

The organisation is an established SME with a collaborative permanent team and a wider network of specialist consultants who are engaged depending on client and project requirements.
As the business continues to grow, it is looking to strengthen its internal contracts capability by appointing an experienced Contracts Paralegal.
This is a broad and operational position with responsibility for managing the business’s day-to-day contracts process.
The role will involve reviewing and amending standard commercial agreements, supporting straightforward drafting, managing templates and ensuring contracts continue to progress efficiently through the review and approval process.
You will work closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders across the business and regularly liaise with the procurement and legal teams of large corporate clients.
The position will report to a senior operations leader rather than a lawyer. More complex legal issues can be escalated to an experienced senior lawyer or external legal counsel.
The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced career paralegal, contracts paralegal or contracts professional with strong commercial contracts experience.
You will be highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership of a contracts process within an SME environment.
