Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions seeks a contract and procurement professional to own contracts and supplier relationships within a growing energy infrastructure environment. The role is on-site near Abingdon and permanent, full-time with occasional travel, offering real impact on project delivery.

You will manage end-to-end procurement, negotiate terms, support governance, and provide updates to senior stakeholders while balancing cost, risk and delivery objectives.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in contract management, procurement, commercial management or supplier management roles
  • Knowledge of NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) arrangements and their practical application
  • Experience supporting procurement processes, tender evaluations and supplier negotiations
  • Strong commercial awareness balancing risk, cost, compliance and operational requirements
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills to explain commercial issues to stakeholders

Responsibilities

Job description

Summary

Take ownership of contracts and supplier relationships across a growing Energy Infrastructure environment. You will play a visible role in commercial decision making, helping shape procurement and contract management processes while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business. This is an opportunity to build broad commercial experience in a part-time role where your input will directly influence project delivery and operational success.

Where you will work

The role is based near Abingdon and is on-site. This a permanent, full-time role, with occasional travel.

What you will be doing
  • Supporting the full customer contracting process, ensuring agreements are coordinated efficiently and progressed through appropriate governance routes
  • Planning and managing procurement activities for goods, services and works, from requirements gathering and supplier engagement through to tender evaluation and recommendation
  • Negotiating commercial and operational terms with suppliers and subcontractors while balancing risk, value and delivery objectives
  • Managing supplier contracts throughout delivery and operation, including obligations tracking, performance reviews, contract changes, renewals and contract close out activities
  • Acting as a key point of contact for contract related queries, documentation, approvals and stakeholder communications
  • Working closely with finance and project teams to support cost control, forecasting, purchase order management and variation tracking
  • Identifying opportunities to improve procurement and contract management processes, templates, reporting and governance arrangements
  • Providing clear updates to senior stakeholders on contract status, key risks, commercial issues and upcoming decisions
Your experience
  • Experience within contract management, procurement, commercial management or supplier relationship management environments
  • Knowledge of NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) arrangements and their practical application
  • Experience supporting procurement processes, tender evaluations and supplier negotiations
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance risk, cost, compliance and operational requirements
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain commercial issues clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities, construction, building services or other project-based industries would be advantageous
Essential requirements
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in contract management, procurement, commercial management or supplier management roles
  • Strong experience supporting procurement activities, supplier selection and commercial negotiations
  • Proven ability to manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including mobilisation, performance management, variations, renewals and close out
  • Confidence reviewing commercial agreements, scopes of work, pricing schedules and supplier terms
  • Experience working with multiple internal stakeholders across commercial, operational, technical, finance or project delivery functions
Salary and rewards

A salary in the range of 60,000 - 75,000, plus an annual performance bonus of up to 20%. Also included is Private Medical Insurance and 7% matched pension contribution
