Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is supporting a North West Local Authority by recruiting an experienced Housing Standards Officer on a temporary basis to join the Private Sector Housing Team.

The role demands a contractor with a strong background in enforcement and the ability to manage a varied caseload across housing standards, including HHSRS inspections and HMO licensing. You will handle damp problems, disrepair cases, and statutory notices with appropriate enforcement action.

Qualifications

• Experience in Local Authority Private Sector Housing or Housing Standards.
• Strong knowledge of housing enforcement legislation.
• Experience conducting HHSRS inspections.
• Background in damp and mould investigations.
• Experience handling disrepair and private sector housing complaints.
• Knowledge of HMO licensing and compliance; ability to serve notices.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Housing Act 2004 enforcement activity.
• Undertaking HHSRS inspections and assessments.
• Investigating damp and mould complaints.
• Managing private sector housing complaints and disrepair cases.
• Delivering HMO licensing and compliance work.
• Serving statutory notices and progressing enforcement action.
