Job summary

Brackenberry Limited is partnering with a Local Authority in East Suffolk to appoint a Support Accountant on a 3-month contract. The role provides financial management support, advice, and guidance to Finance Business Partners, Budget Holders, Heads of Service and Corporate Managers across service areas and projects.

You will assist with budget setting and monitoring, financial performance forecasting and the annual closure of accounts, ensuring statutory deadlines are met and promoting

Qualifications

• Support budget monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for Revenue and Capital.

Responsibilities

• Assist with year-end closure of outturn positions and government/statutory returns.
• Perform reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
• Provide financial management advice and guidance to service areas and non-financial managers.
• Deliver financial awareness training and support Apprentices and Assistant Accountants.
• Ensure correct accounting treatment of received grants.
